We first ran out beam this winter and are starting to come up to full intensity. This is the beginning of a five-year initial run of the MINOS experiment. Construction at Soudan was completed in 2003. Below is a picture of the first beam generated neutrino interaction in the detector at Soudan. It was captured in March of this year.
You can watch our experiment's data live on the web at http://farweb.minos-soudan.org/events/.

Prior to joining William & Mary on 2004, Prof. Nelson was in charge of the MINOS detector construction at Soudan. Prof. Nelson (right) giving one of the first underground science tours in May of 2002.
