Photographs of Ian, Dave, Colton and I working in the lab
Here are some photographs that Ian, Dave, Colton and I took of each other while we were working on the Minerva detectors in the high-energy physics lab on February 29, 2008.
Colton, Dave and Ian working on working with the light-tight bag on the top of the detector plane.
The detector plane is pretty heavy, so it takes several people to be able to move it effectively.
They are almost done messing with the light-tight bag now!
Sarah paints reflective white paint onto the expoxied doublets.
Sarah on the table painting the doublets.
Ian and Colton are gluing a siderail onto the detector plane.
They spread the glue out so there is an even layer everywhere.
They add more glue where they need it.
Then they carefully adjust the alignment of the piece.
Kevin is diligently recording the data from each of our samples from the machine that we took to check that the ratio is correct.
They clamp the siderail into place, weighting it with zinc blocks.
Ian and I prepare to take some more epoxy component samples using the newly-repaired machine for analysis.
Ian is dispensing out some more samples for us to analyze.
More samples!
